Exploring New Frontiers: FAU and UCSF Spark Innovation with Captivating Talks!
On May 24th, we had the pleasure of hosting esteemed colleagues from UCSF. The event featured two captivating talks that furthered the partnership between our institutions. Christopher Hess, Chair of the Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at UCSF, delivered an insightful presentation titled “The Last Mile: How Can Artificial Intelligence Move from the Lab to the Clinic.” His talk shed light on the challenges and opportunities of integrating AI into clinical practice. Sharmila Majumdar, Vice Chair for Research, Department of Radiology and Biomedical Imaging at UCSF, presented “Intelligent Imaging: A Focus on Joint Degeneration,” highlighting the innovative approaches to leveraging advanced imaging techniques for studying joint degeneration.

In pursuit of knowledge and innovation, we have embarked on a transformative journey with the prestigious University of California San Francisco (UCSF). To initiate this partnership, our AIBE department, accompanied by our president, had the privilege of visiting the renowned campus of UCSF. This inaugural visit laid the groundwork for a fruitful exchange of ideas and resources, fostering collaboration and excellence.
Continuing our collaboration, members of the distinguished UCSF faculty will be visiting us in Erlangen next week. We’re delighted to host two exceptional speakers who will deliver enlightening talks on Wednesday, May 24th, at 14:00 at d.hip:
